There is so much to do for kids at Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot! Build, draw, watch falconers or theatre, listen to audio tours and lots more.
Children’s audio tour
On the Tower Route in the castle, you can listen to an audio tour for children. They will learn all about how the castle was defended. How did they do it, keeping the enemy at a distance? And what happened if danger approached? You can pick up the free audio tour in the castle courtyard. The story takes about 20 minutes and is spoken in Dutch and English.
Discover the castle and gardens with a scouting expedition
It is even more fun for children to discover the castle. with the scouting expedition ‘Discover and Do’. Bring an adult to explore the castle and gardens and complete the assignments. There is a special surprise in store for you at the end. Good to know about the scouting expedition:
– It consists of a set of cards with activities.
– The scouting expedition is great for children aged 6 through 11 with guidance from an adult.
– The scouting expedition is available from the cashier’s desk and costs €2.
Falconer
The falconer brings his birds of prey to the tournament field behind the castle on a regular basis. Visit the falconer’s station, learn all about falconry in the old days, and see the beautiful raptors up close. Would you like to know when the falconer is present and what to expect? Read more.

Always something fun to do
There are lots of fun things to do for children at Muiderslot castle. There are often extra activities in weekends and during school holidays. Come do some crafts, draw, build, dance, listen to stories, see the theater, or join a garden safari. Due to COVID-19, we are not allowed to organize lots of activities for now, but do keep an eye on the agenda on this website.
