What are the opening hours?
We are open every day from 10:00 to 17:00. We are closed on Mondays during the winter months. For more information, please visit the Opening Hours page.
I am a wheelchair user. Can I visit Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot?
The gardens, ramparts, courtyard, and falconer’s demonstrations on the tournament field are wheelchair accessible. The castle itself was built to be inaccessible and there are many stairs. We are doing our best to be as accessible as possible for everyone. The castle grounds are accessible free of charge to wheelchair users.
Can I bring a stroller to Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot?
Yes you can, but you cannot enter the castle with a stroller. You can leave the stroller in the courtyard (it is dry under the arches).
Can I bring my dog to the castle?
No, dogs are not allowed onto the grounds. Official assistance dogs are allowed however.
Is there a wardrobe at Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot?
There is an unattended wardrobe as well as lockers in the castle.
Is there an audio tour available?
Muiderslot castle offers free audio tours in several languages with several themes. Great fun for children, too!

Can I book a tour?
Visiting Muiderslot castle is a great family outing or corporate event. If you are interested and want to know more, you can also book a guided tour. Or perhaps you just miss the old-fashioned guided tours…. You can book several different guided themed tours. We are happy to help you!

Is there a charging station at Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot?
No, sadly there is not. We do not have our own car park.
Can I charge the battery of my e-bike?
Yes you can, there is a battery charging station near the lockers in the wardrobe.
Is there WiFi at Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot?
Yes, there is WiFi in the courtyard, near the cafe and in the shop. Please keep in mind that WiFi coverage may be low-quality within the castle due to the thick old walls. Enemies couldn’t get through them and now WiFi can’t…’
Can I fly a drone over Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot?
No, it is not allowed with an eye to the safety of visitors, the vulnerability of the monumental structures, and the privacy of residents nearby. The birds of prey that are present on castle grounds on a regular basis, are also unsettled by the drones.
Help! I just ordered a ticket via the website but I can’t find it. What should I do?
Did you check your spam folder or junk mail? Sometimes emails end up there! Sometimes it takes a few minutes to send your ticket. If you cannot find the ticket, send an email to support@globalticket.nl or call +31 (0)20 244 2877.
I ordered a ticket online. Do I have to print it?
You can but you don’t have to. You can also show your tickets on your smartphone or tablet with a clear screen. Make sure the scan code is clearly visible.
I have a Museumcard, BGL VIP card, or a pass or voucher from another provider. Can I enter the castle with those?
Since 1 July, it is strongly recommended, but it is no obligation anymore. Please reserve your timeslot here, no extra charge.
I won’t be using my tickets. Can I exchange them or get my money back?
No, unfortunately this is impossible. Of course you could always give away your tickets and make someone else happy.
